Week 21 - Heat, emails and slow summer pace

I don’t want to bore you with the details, because honestly, Week 21 was the same thing every day in the best and most repetitive way possible.

With barely anyone in the office after Midsommar, the work-week was mostly filled with international emails, getting the Swedish course lists set up and sent out, and trying to stay productive while Stockholm did its best impression of a heatwave.

Error messages - too hot

It was “only” around 30 degrees, so it could have been worse — but still, it was definitely the kind of weather that makes everyone move a little slower and question all their life choices. Even my laptop gave up on me more than once that week!

Morale at work was pretty low thanks to the heat, so the whole office naturally took things at a gentler pace that week. Luckily emails were slow and other work-related responsibilities could wait a week or two!

On Wednesday afternoon my best friend from Linköping came to visit me in Stockholm. Her, her 2 kids and fiance met me at Mall of Scandinavia where I might have spoiled her daughter to more toys than she could carry... and a way too big cotton candy flower!

Other than that the highlights of this week were Lego-building date night on Thursday and going swimming in a lake after work with my work bestie, which was exactly the kind of summer reset I needed.

Lastly, I got to pick up Vincent, my friend from Gothenburg, on sunday. He came to stay over at our place.. You will see why on the next post!

A slow week, yes, but still a typical Swedish-summer one: a bit sweaty, a bit sleepy, and saved by a lake at the end of the day.
