Week 12 - From Emails to Erasmus Stories and back

Some weeks are full of small tasks—this one had a bit of a main event: the Study-Abroad-Fika. And yes… I was part of the program.
Let’s start with Monday, April 20th.
A classic “keeping an eye on the international email” kind of day—which, at this point, has become my version of a comfort activity. You never really know what’s going to pop up there.
The highlight of the day was my meeting with George. We talked about his Erasmus experience and filmed a video for the website, which was actually really fun. It’s always interesting to hear how different everyone’s exchange experience is… and also slightly reassuring that nobody really knows what they’re doing at first.
In between all that, I worked on my blog—trying to catch up on everything I hadn’t written yet (which… was a lot).
Tuesday was a big day.
Still on international-email duty, of course—but most of my focus went into putting the final touches on my presentation for the Study-Abroad-Fika.
After some last-minute preparations, it was time: the Study-Abroad-Fika.Students presented their exchange experiences, and I also got to present mine—specifically focusing on the Erasmus Traineeship, which was kind of the main thing we wanted to promote. It felt a bit strange being on the “presenting” side of things, but also really nice to share my experience and answer questions.
Here are some of my favorite slides:
There were a lot of good conversations, curious students, and (very importantly) fika. After everything wrapped up, I helped Malin clean up, which felt like a proper end to a very full day.
Wednesday was a bit more low-key again.
Emails, as always—but also a department meeting where we talked about a new email system we’ll start using soon… with AI.
I mean—AI in the email system. Very futuristic. Slightly scary. Mostly exciting. Technology really is doing the most these days. I also got some questions about the presentation I gave and I was happy to answer them!
Thursday was a mix of creative planning and a really interesting meeting.
The morning started (surprise) with emails, and then I had a meeting with Shadi and Dylan from IT. We talked about the Intro Week video we’re planning to film in mid-May and finalized our last ideas before sending the manuscript to the student who’ll be presenting the school in the video.
After lunch, I went to meet Carin from the University of Defence. She’s one of their international coordinators, and we talked about the possibility of them having an Erasmus trainee as well. I basically walked her through my entire experience—what I do, how I found the traineeship, how I applied, and why I think it’s actually a really valuable addition for an institution.
It was one of those moments where I realized, “Oh… I actually know what I’m talking about now.”
Friday was all about getting things done.
Emails, of course—but also finally finishing, translating, and uploading a bunch of blog posts from the past weeks. Slowly but surely catching up.
I also worked on an Excel table for Vladimir, filling in information about accepted Erasmus students for 2026/2027 so they can be added into KMH’s student system. Not the most glamorous task—but very satisfying once it’s done.
And then… the weekend.
A well-deserved mix of everything: I went on a little shopping trip with Benji (my friend from Västerås), tested some boba tea spots around Stockholm (research purposes, obviously), and spent the rest of the time relaxing and preparing some food for the upcoming week.
A productive week, a social weekend, and for once—I actually feel kind of on top of things.
Let’s see how long that lasts...
