This week started with genuinely heartwarming news—and honestly, it kind of set the tone for everything that followed.

Monday, May 4th began with the announcement that Ida, one of my colleagues, had her baby! A healthy baby boy—who, from what I heard, was a little too eager to meet his mom. Such a lovely way to start the week.

The rest of the day was filled with more routine tasks: keeping an eye on the international email, reminding students to accept or decline their offered places, forwarding emails to the student union, and planning and coordinating meetings with Shadi and the communications department.

In the afternoon, things slowed down a bit as Sebbe’s mom came over for her birthday. It was a very minimal celebration since her husband was home sick, but we still had Smörgåstårta (seafood-free for me, thankfully) and kept things cozy and low-key.

Tuesday was all about preparations.

I helped get things ready for the upcoming study abroad webinar while, of course, keeping an eye on emails and continuing to plan and coordinate meetings with Shadi and the communications team. A very “behind the scenes” kind of day.

Wednesday brought a mix of the usual tasks—emails, reminders to students—and something a bit different.

I helped Alice with TimeEdit, checking rooms and learning how to book them for different groups. It’s always interesting getting insight into new systems… even if they come with their own little learning curves.

Thursday followed a similar rhythm: emails, forwarding messages to the student union, and Swedish class.

And then—date night again. At this point, it’s becoming a bit of a weekly tradition, and I’m not complaining.

Friday wrapped things up in a familiar way: emails, reminders, and more coordination with the student union. One of those days where you just quietly get things done and prepare for the weekend.

And speaking of the weekend…I may have gone back to my tattoo artist—again. At this point, I think it’s safe to say I’m becoming a regular.

Aside from that, it was a mix of small, simple things: picking up some snacks and groceries, enjoying the sunshine, and going for walks by the nearby lake. The kind of weekend that doesn’t sound spectacular—but feels exactly right.

A week of routines, small moments, and little highlights in between.
