Week 18 was one of those weeks where work tasks, small projects, and a few personal surprises all slid together into a full but enjoyable rhythm. There were emails, edits, a national day, and me going full “grandma mode” with embroidery, which is definitely not what I expected from myself this year.
Monday was a fairly calm start to the week. I added some more courses to TimeEdit, had a few extra responsibilities when it came to international emails, and joined a Zoom meeting about future projects. Basically: scheduling, emails, and a little peek into what’s coming next.
Tuesday was all about the international email — forwarding, answering questions, and keeping things moving. On top of that, I worked on the finishing touches of my interview films, which felt like a real “almost there” moment. I also started making a collection of all the important questions exchange students might have, for a Q&A we want to add to the KMH website before summer. Our plan: hopefully stop students from sending in too many questions during the summer break. Basically, a summer break trap for email questions.
Wednesday kicked off with a department meeting with the Communication Department about better cooperation in the future and how to troubleshoot things more smoothly. After that, I finished up the last edits on the interview films I did for the KMH website, which felt like a proper milestone. The rest of the day was still international emails, forwarding, and answering. Basically: meetings, edits, and emails. Classic workday trio.

Thursday was another day of international emails, but I also helped Alice with inventory of classrooms — which basically meant me going on a wild goose chase to find rooms with mirror walls in the other building and reporting back to Alice, all while trying to avoid interrupting lessons. It was a lot of walking, hiding behind doors, and whispering “sorry” every time a class started.
After work, date night was: yummy home-made pasta with tomato-paprika sauce and building a new Lego set with Sebbe. A very cozy, very Swedish, very adult version of a date night.
Friday was a slower day, but I took full responsibility of the international email since it was Malin’s birthday. I’ll also be the only one working in the International Office the next week, so it was good practice. Basically: solo email, solo desk, solo practice for the week ahead.

Saturday was Sveriges nationaldag, which we didn’t really celebrate at all. We just enjoyed some good food, some drinks, and I got going on some “baby gifts” for my colleagues who have, and will have, babies. I have gone full grandma mode and picked up embroidery as my new found passion. Like, call me grandma Angelique.
On Sunday, Sebbe took me to a bistro on the other side of the lake where we had one of Sweden’s best Tunnbrödsrulle at “Sofies Grill”. Consistency-wise a bit weird, but it tasted amazing. Basically: lake, bread, and a very good lunch.
