Week 9 was very much a decision-making week. Erasmus applications were moving toward their final outcomes, which meant letters, Excel tables, emails, and a lot of careful checking. It was busy, but also satisfying in that “okay, now things are actually being finished” sort of way.

Monday was spent preparing blank rejection and acceptance letters that could be filled in the next day. I also updated the Excel table with the department heads’ decisions for rejections, acceptances, and waiting-list placements. It was one of those days where the work may not look exciting from the outside, but it is absolutely necessary for everything that comes after. After work I went home and started preparing Easter Eggs for my friends and their kids...
Tuesday was a work-from-home day, and I used it to prepare rejection and waiting-list letters and emails for the 122 Erasmus students who had applied. That number alone made the day feel substantial, and I spent most of the time working carefully through the material to make sure everything was ready. There is something very different about doing this kind of task from home — quieter, but still very focused. After lunch my boyfriend surprised me with a Fika at a lake nearby. Recharged I was ready to tackle every last preparation!
Wednesday was all about reviewing the prepared letters with Malin and getting the acceptance letters ready for her to sign and send. There was also the Wednesday meeting, which helped keep the rest of the week connected, and I filmed an interview with Illa for the Erasmus-Interview video. It was a nice mix of formal paperwork and a more creative task. Before leaving the office I played Easter Bunny and hid little plastic eggs filled with candy around my colleagues desks - hihi.
Thursday - a half day here in Sweden - was another work-from-home day, with the international emails and my presentation for the Study Abroad Fika keeping me busy. It was a steady day rather than a dramatic one, but sometimes those are the days that help everything else stay in order. By then, the week had a very “just keep going, you’re making progress” feeling. The day ended with a cozy date-night, just like every Thursday does!

Friday was Easter, so I had the day off work. So I went and got a new tattoo that day, and did a little Easter Egg hunt with my now boyfriend, which made the holiday feel even more memorable. Not a bad way to spend a day off at all.
The weekend took me to Södertälje to celebrate Easter with my best friend Rebekka and her family. There were lots of children, a sugar rush, snowy and rainy weather, and plenty of Easter eggs filled with candy and skincare for the adults. It was chaotic in the warmest possible way, and definitely one of those weekends that stays in your memory.
